Porcelain Showroom
I was pleased to be hired to photograph the San Francisco showroom of ICG Italia, a leading supplier of porcelain surfaces for architectural and interior applications. The assignment was to capture both the overall design of the showroom and the finer details of the materials on display. I created wide views that show how the space is organized, along with tighter images that highlight how porcelain can be used not just as tile, but also as a construction material for more complex applications like furniture, vanities, and counters. Precision fit and finish, texture, luster, inlays, and color were all key points to convey in the finished set.
Lighting was a particular challenge. In the larger views, I had to work with a mix of window light and interior showroom lighting. In post-production, I carefully balanced the relatively cool daylight with the warmer tones of the practical fixtures to create a clean, consistent look across the images. For some of the closer detail shots, I built custom lighting setups to introduce highlights and shadows that added subtle drama while revealing shape, surface, and texture. The result is a collection of images that communicates both the design of the showroom itself and the versatility of ICG Italia’s porcelain surfaces in real-world use. This kind of interior showroom photography is part of my broader architectural photography work in San Francisco and the Bay Area, helping design firms and material suppliers showcase their spaces with clarity and impact.
