Wave House
This striking new build in the Berkeley Hills—designed by architects Megan Carter and Bridgett Shank—is as much about sustainability as it is about style. Walls of glass, concrete thermal mass, and carefully considered details come together to frame Bay Area views and natural light.
I was brought in by Realtor Scott Leverette to produce the listing photos, with additional licensing for the architects. With a project like this, natural light is everything. The way it shifts through glass and concrete changes the character of each space throughout the day. My approach here was to balance my own lighting with the house’s design intent—waiting for the right light, layering in just enough of my own, and making multiple visits to get it right.
Architectural photography isn’t just about documenting a structure—it’s about giving future buyers, architects, and designers images that honor the vision behind it. In this case, it meant slowing down, paying attention to the rhythms of light and space, and making sure the photos captured both the innovation and the atmosphere of Wave House.
